Can someone tell which flour it is please...plain or self raising.

Also, my cakes normally rise very high and i can just slice them in half and add buttercream and jam then cover with fondant etc...does the biscuit recipe do the same or would i need to make 2 and sandwich them together.... :)

If you mean the biscuitrecipe on this site, it is plain flour. I have no experience how it rises.
I myself use the biscuitmix from the shop. That one rises good.

Hope my answer will help you.

Re: Before i try the biscuit recipe....

here also plain flour, it doesn't rise as much as the mix, because you already put in so much air by mixing.

Re: Before i try the biscuit recipe....

I use pretty much only the recipe for biscuit (i find the mix a bit too sweet) and it rises enough to cut it twice so 2 layers of filling.
It really depends on how you add the flour and cornstarch to the sugar and egg mix.  You need to have a gentle hand hahaha.
And yeah plain flour.. I use the cheapest stuff you can get  :Y
