Doesn't it also depend on what kind of freezer you have...? Freezers have star ratings and I would only freeze a cake for that long in a 3-4 star freezer.

I completely agree with Glamour. It's a bit risky to say you can always freeze cakes...
Besides, if you decide to freeze it, make sure you inform your customer about it.
I personalle wouldn't want a cake that has been frozen for a month, and if it was my mistake, I'd probably rather pay double.

I do think it depends a lot on what you used to fill it. Not all fillings can be frozen. What did you use to fill it? There is a topic somewhere around here with fillings that are safe to freeze. I'll look it up for you.

When u make a good filling it will be okay.
because manufacturer of cakes freeze them in for month.
when u use good stuff there is absolutely no problem at all

thank you, no there are no 3d's just normal stamped decs....phw, i hope this works...lol...how will i know what the inside is like tho...will the buiscuit and buttercream filling still be ok

Hi Jayne,
You can freeze the cake. I have done it before.
I would recommend freezing it in a cake box - the cardboard boxes, the white on the outside and the cardboard (gray) folded on the inside.
Do tell your customer that it will be frozen, that is important.
24 hours before needed by the customer, the cake can be taken out of the freezer and placed to thaw in the fridge. Do not open the box as you will probably be alarmed at the cake sweating. This will dry up and be ok, once served.

I am not sure what kind of decorations you have on the cake itself. Are there any 3d figures? Of there are, try and take these off beforehand. By 3d i mean like bridesdolls or cats or large flowers as these may not fair well in the freezer.

You can freeze your cake without any problems!

Just make sure you defrost your cake in a cardboard box in de fridge for 24hours.
The moist (if any) will be absorbed by the box. And after 24 hours it sould be dry and defrosted.

I have not frozen a cake in for so long, but i have read a lot on this site that it won't be a problem.
but you have to make sure you carefully wrap your cake in plastic or something so it won't dry out in the freezer.

I know this is in the wrong place but my google translate isnt working so dont know where to post this

Ive just fully decorated a cake ready for delivery tomorrow and the lady just called and noticed our invoice for payment for tomorrow and she apologises but its for february....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So can i freeze the decorated cake...will it be ok frozen for a month..
